World-class fishing, wide sandy beaches for sun tanning, surfing, sailing, windsurfing, kite boarding, boating and of course, championship golf, abound between the Cape and the Inlet.
Don’t forget entertainment and night life: Just one hour from Orlando International Airport- MCO, Disney World, Universal, Epcot, and Sea World - it’s an easy drive down the “Beachline” highway – Rt. 528 - to all of the attractions and excitement of world-famous Orlando, FL. But you don’t even have to go that far for entertainment. Nearby, Viera offers golf and shopping, Merritt Island is only a few miles away for day-to-day conveniences, and Melbourne is the home of the Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts, hosting top-notch shows of world-class talent. United States Sports Specialty Association (USSSA), hosting youth sports tournaments from all over, is expected to move into the former Space Coast Stadium in Viera sometime this year.
Major employers have made their headquarters in Brevard County as well. Career opportunities are plentiful. Northrop Grumman, Harris International, United Launch Alliance, SpaceX, Kennedy Space Center, Lockheed Martin, and NASA are among the many that are showing growth. You don’t need to travel far from the beach or waterways to find employment in Central Florida.
Brevard County schools lead the way in primary and secondary education. The public school system is highly rated and private schools abound. Higher education campuses are found throughout the county as well. Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), University of Central Florida (UCF), and Eastern Florida State College, to name a few, are easily accessible.
